Evening,

Need some help picking where to go next please?

Tempted to go to Torridon, been many times and probably my favourite place to ride in the UK.Love Kinlochleven, again been a few times. Great place.

Is there anywhere else as similar and as good to base yourselves for a few days, maybe Aviemore?

Aviemore or Ballater would be the obvious choices.

Agree with Aviemore. Aware of a few routes.

What about Ballatar, where is the good stuff?

Got a range of good stuff Ballater, Aboyne and Banchory. Trailforks is your friend.
Look on YouTube for Heartbreak ridge. Not long but such a good descent.

Deeside generally is becoming a great destination to visit. Depends what you are looking for but classic Ballater trails are Heartbreak Ridge and Mastermind. Heartbreak Ridge has had a load of coverage recently - a google or reference to the Singletrack magazine should find plenty of information. There is a load of other less well advertised stuff around there too if you can find someone to show you around.

Nearby, there's a ton to keep you amused at Aboyne and Banchory (Scolty) or if you want the bigger hills, head to Braemar/Linn of Dee and head up Macdui.

Edit: As @bri-72 says 🙂
