I've replaced the two o rings on the plunger for my topeak mini. I got the kit from chainreaction. The problem I'm having is that when pulled there seems to be a lot more resitance than there was before.

Any ideas? The rebuild kit was for the mini without gauge. So definitely the right stuff

Have you greased it? Add a smear of o-ring friendly grease

Greased the o-rings (not sure how friendly it was though)

Hydrocarbon based grease can cause o-rings to swell.
