Had a great week-end in Welsh Wales, Afan Saturday, Gap road Sunday
Mrs M pranged herself at Afan though - ballsed up one of the optional rock steppy bits at the bottom of Whites, which left us with a 2 km shuttle piggy back / multiple bike pushing down to an ambulance at the bottom
double fracture of ankle and broken rib diagnosed at Swansea A & E. She's well 'ard though so didn't want to go home, and we still managed beer and curry on Saturday and the rest off us did the Gap on Sunday - Andy loved it on his 1993 rigid Raleigh (not)
thanks to anyone who help pushing / didn't run us over, and Antony who did more piggy backing than myself and Big Al (Team 200kg) combined (not sure he realised she was my wife 8O.........)
Waves 'Hello' from Wales. Were you parked close by the shop in Talybont on Sunday? Is Andy's bike red? Silver Merc estate? I think I saw you guys a few times.
Unlucky!
Pics of the gap?
Ouch.
You didn't call the air ambulance out? Self reliance in this day and age? are you mad? ๐
Spotted a bit of carnage on Saturday, there was a chap at the start of energy with some bust ribs looking for an easy way down. Probably the drops at the end of that previous section.
Ambrose - yes, that was Andy. Where were you?
TJ - Air Ambulance - didn't even think of even think of that, but it wouldn't have been able to land. Air lift?
Actually, didn't really need an ambulance - one of the other guys called that without us knowing, otherwise would have gone in the car
MrBlooby: Agree, you've got to hit the middle drop at speed or the last one will muller you big style ๐
I'm just finishing some toast then going up W2 for the afternoon... got to love days of when the weathers this good!
TyB at the start, lots of faffing going on. Then later on whilst I was dealing with yet another thorn based puncture beside the canal you guys went past on the road. Then as I was packing up, you were reaching the cars back in TyB. Tall bloke, riding a Nicolai. Drive a blue Scenic.
Best of luck I'm sure I rode part you guys on the final descent - there must have been 10 of you and she was wearing a tri club shirt?
Long way to piggy back from there.
ambrose / hugor - yes that was us (both counts)
faffing about? how could you!?
