[#866766]

been out on the blue pig this afternoon, messing in middleton woods.
so 1st thing was steps, which are not easy when you are top heavy.
3 flights one after the other where ridden with ease.
next steep rolling over the edge type stuff in a steep chute.
this was done on the 1st attempt, i did this on the chumba the other week and got over the back tyre, but fell off half way down.
next a rooty steep climb that has me getting the back tyre caught up on most bikes have have ridden it on. i did manage it on the stiffee a month or so ago, and i pis5ed it on the pig today.
next was a full downhill type run with a few little drops, kickers and small sharp berms.
the mountain king tyres were crap in the dry loose corners, but with the 750mm bars and short stem, the bike felt very nice and controlable.
last but not least was the bombholes or figure of 8 at the bottom.
i have seen lad's get 6/8 foot off the lip coming out of them, i managed abot 10 inches........ 8)

so i feel pleased for now with my purchase.......we will see.

one thing for sure, the blue pig is a very comfy frame.

Thats the bit I was interested in. I have a dodgy back and my old steel bike has decided to give up on me.
Testing one @18bikes on 3rd Oct if you fancy a pootle?

Saw the one outside 18Bikes this morning - first look over, it looks a great bike.

Then I saw the Pace 405 above it......

Then I noticed the Nicolai in between them was a Rohloff.....

God, I hate that shop! ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm not surprised it feels comfy - you've zip-tied a trampoline to the back wheel. Must have about 18" of rear travel.

First ride euphoria review from a serial bike swapper. Just like new climbing boots, IME, they were always good for a grade harder first time out ;-). Be interested to hear what you've got to say about it after a month / decent number of rides.

20" are gate-esque in my eyes but if you need a 20" frame then it's irrelevant. Tyres and forks wouldn't be my choice but sounds like you're changing them anyway.

Only times I've tried big wide bars it's either meant brayed knuckles in the trees or the position / reach / fit got all f'ed up. Is there something about the BP that's specifically intended to make them work or is it a trend thing?

Refering to yourself in the third person - odd :-S

Looks good. Now take off the wheels, wrap bubblewrap around each end and practice 'jumps'/air on the trampoline please.

And in my eyes your leprechaunesque bike looks like something for an, errm leprechaun ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks good in large, though sadly I don't think the seat tube extension is big enough for a Crud Guard. Shame.

shame he doesnt do a "ive had enough" review....

just a few notes, doesnt have to be anything that would reflect in its resale value.

steel frame looks nice but is too heavy, compared with the identical geometry of the mmmbob
the top tube was long for a 20" frame and i couldnt get comfy without an inline post and 50mm stem - this changed how the fork worked
the funky new chainstay setup might allow for great tyre clearance but it attracts and holds mud

now selling because
a) im bored
b) i hate it
c) too 'core' for me

cmon ton, finish the job.

I doubt he's ridden it enough to form any sort of valid opinion..... ๐Ÿ˜‰
