I occasionally travel to Northern Ireland to visit the in-laws and have thought about taking the bike and getting a couple of rides in while over. Castlewellan looks good for passing a few hours but Tollymore Forest Park seems a bit of a mystery from searching on-line. Is it somewhere that requires a bit of local knowledge or are the paths/trails way marked enough to find your way around?

It's a maze of amazing natural trails. Need local knowledge really. Nothing's signposted. But has some of the best riding around

Tollymore forest is on my back door step. Great place to ride and can take in Donard forest after(just a 10min pedal over the Moore).
Forestry has started felling trees due to larch disease wiping out a few trails.

I'd be happy to show you round the place. When are you over?

Also castlewellan is worth a visit for the natural trails.

I'm over at the moment but with no bike or cycling kit as car will be full of wife's stuff collected from in-laws but will be back early October and might manage to squeeze the bike along with me (and shower proof riding kit )
