Got a good loop that I do fairly often, but I've got 1 section that descends down a road back into Walsden. If I could find an alternative descent this ride would be much betterer! So, does anyone know of a better way to get from:

to the valley floor without taking [url= http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=393757&Y=421864&A=Y&Z=115 ]this[/url] road? coming from Rake End.
the route will then continue up Inchfield and over to Watergrove so needs to take this into account. don't mind if it meant a bit of canal bashing back to walsden if there is a decent descent further towards Bottomley.
basically, i need a good descent from the eastern side of the valley back down to the canal.
don't live too close any more (rochdale originally), so difficult to get out exploring.
