How do you remove the plastic whatdoyoumacallits from the stranglehold dropouts on a Trek Stache? I want to mess about with the spacing, but I'm clearly quite special (and not in the Birthday way). Please feel free to ridicule me, I deserve it!

I guess they're the same as the ones on the Farley (pic here):
IIRC you need to undo the nut on the dropout and they just push out (you might need to take the dropout out of the frame, I can't quite remember.)
