Today's bodge bike - a Halfords TDF road special that was gifted to Wendy, but she never liked it. So I singlespeeded it, fitted an old narrow riser bar, and a load of old spares. Makes a fine town bike - the frame is a bit compact for me, but seems ok with the long layback post and long stem. Dunno what the ratio is, but it will only be used on short inclines.

I'd like the old-style 7sp cassette off for neatness but have not got the right tool. TBH, it's fine as it is.

Best thing you can do to a road bike.

Just needs a set of Mary bars - inverted and gold anodised. ๐Ÿ™‚

fit some drop bars

Nah I don't like 'em. Because the stem fairly long and rising, and the bars have a little rise, it's actually comfy enough for it's intended use, which is short trips to, and around town.

These bars are ~640 wide so one can lever the bike against the pedal stroke when going uphill which is something I liked about my singlespeeded mountain bike before I knocked that lark on the head.

I wouldn't mind trying a Jones bar sometime.
