Got myself some xt wheels ,which can run tubeless and normal setup.
My question is if i drill them out for schrader valve fitting will i then wreck the chances of ever running tubeless in the future ie. if i sell them or just fancy a try on tubeless ?

Bend them back and take a spare tube.

I tend to find it is press-on mini pump heads that bend the valves. I've not had any trouble since I switched to one of those Lezyne pumps that has a little piece of hose to connect to the valve

you can't go wrong with the old style car valve.

If you drill a bigger hole you WON'T be able to go to tubeless.

Replacement valves are no more than a fiver so you could always carry one. It would be a real shame to wreck the tubeless versitility of the wheels because they are really very good.

Presta are fine. Just don't use the valve itself as leverage when you snap on the pump- use both hands to counter the weight and you'll be fine

if you get the replaceable core presta valves it shouldn;t be a major problem if you snap the odd one?

I use a presta to schrader converter as a valve cap on one of my wheels. This means you can use a forecourt air hose if in town.

Out on the trail I use it to avoid the bent presta valves, they do indeed appear to be made from cheese. The adaptor is a couple of quid from LBS.

Why not just run tubeless? Or alternatively, less hamfistering.
