Anyone would think that was a sample frame that had bits that didn't make production. 😉

Oh no - that's ok... that bit made it to production.

It's just the shots we've put up were a previous version with different dropouts, different ISCG tabs and different seatstays.

Ooooooh i'm torn... i've just been paid for the sale of a motorbike and i've now got 5 options.

1. Titus ti frame (Large)
2. Yelli screamy (Large)
3. Ducati 900ss ie
4. Ducati 748

I'm very undecided on which to go for. It could be argued the Yelli makes the most sense as it comes with forks and headset too. I'd only need bars/stem/drivetrain to get it built and running in a week.

But the other 3 are calling me too..... Weeeeeeksssssssyyyyyyyy buyyyy meeeeeeee. I hear voices.

Any list that includes a 748 isn't so much a list, as an adendum to Maslows heierachy of needs, and the rest of the list is irelavent.

Umm by rights i'd be mad to given current personal circumstances but still....

So tell me how you intend to build up your fireline? I keep wandering what forks and wheels i would get. Not that i will buy one. Definitely not. Probably. Possibly. I'll give it a week. Or so.

The headset size required quoted on the On One website is ZS44, EC50. Is this the same as ZS44, EC49? I think the lower measurement is actually 49.57mm?

If its made by Van Nicolas - why only a 2year warranty? As Van Nic offer a lifetime.....

The On One badged Lynskey 456ti frames came with a lifetime warranty

why only a 2year warranty

I guess 'cos it limits on-ones liability and keeps costs down?

It's not made by Van Nicolas.

Warranty now sat at 3yrs. Am discussing.

I'm not in the market to buy one as I already have 2 very nice 29ers in Ti, but if I was then I wouldn't buy one with a limited warranty lifespan.

The old titus frames (rrp around £1600) had a final rub-up with scotch brite and I always thought it spoilt the look of it. I remember the old website or one of the old catalogue's showing a worker finishing them off and once you unboxed the frames you could see that the welds were nicely laid out but slightly spoilt by scotch brite scuffings going across the welds. Infact, the welds had polishing/heat marks going across them. (poor welder must have been pissed off)

I always cursed this person at the end of the production line. In the above pic,is this still happening?

Tell them to buff up only what's needed!!

Specifically because it's a Ti frame ?

Would you buy an Alu frame with a 2-3 year warranty ?

Kind of agree with Andy. I'm not sure of relative failure rates, but if alu frame fails it's a much lower loss. Steel frames are fairly easy to repair. If a ti frame fails (and they do as polenty of threads on here show) it's an expensive and specialist repair. Hence I'd want a longer warranty or (as On-one) a cheap intial cost.

Sorry should have been a bit clearer. Any frame will fail but I guess if I am paying £700-£800 for a bicycle frame I'd expect it to last longer than 3 years, or the supplier to make an undertaking that they expect it to lat longer and back that with a warranty.

I dont see the problem, Santa Cruz only have a 2 year warranty on their carbon frames that are 3 times the cost of the evo.

In fairness both On One and Santa Cruz both have very good reputations with Warranty claims

Didn't someoen on here get a Ti frame repaired and it turned out to be a lot less than people imagined (about £120 to re-attach his headtube rings a bell)? And 2-3 years is still a fair amount of time, long enough for any manufacturig defects to show up, which is what a warrenty covers, a component reaching it's fatigue limit or being stuffed into a tree wouldnt be covered under any warenty (although some places might offer some good will).

And if the price stays as it is then it's not much more (and sometimes less) than some comparable aluminium frames anyway (SC highball £599, canfield yelli £850, titus fireline £699).
