I number of retailers seem to be discounting their titanium backed brake pads. Do titanium pads offer anything (bar an imperceptible lowering of weight) over steel/aluminium? They're still a couple of quid more that steel pads so are not worth it if it's just the weight.

Hi. A while ago I purchased 2 sets as the price of finned metal pads for my xt785 brakes really jumped, got 2 set for £25. Not much benefit in weight, and no difference in performance. I wouldn't pay the normal price though. I read a lot of reviews most really good, but literally 1 or 2 said their pads delaminated from back plate at like ½ to ¾ wear. Could of been a couple of duds ,or a mixture of variables.
