Selling my first bike and have got a box from the kindly folk at Evans and some left over bubble wrap from work to wrap it all up. Now I just to find a way to post it cheaply and effectively. I know this is probably a stupid question but do I simply take it down the local post office? I've not got a car and want to sort it tomorrow as I've booked a day off work to do it. Any tips on wrapping it a bit better would be good too!

Thanks all

Assuming wheels need to be off to fit in box, make sure you bubble wrap wheel qr avoid them gouging the frame. Happened to a mate once.

post office will take it but they're not cheap mind.can you not send via your employers del company (if they use one). put a block between the fork legs to stop them getting crushed and put cardboard between everything to prevent scratching etc.

It'll probably pack in with the rear wheel fitted; but if it doesn't, remember to remove the derailleur hanger. Wrap bubble wrap, or even just newspaper, around everything that touches, or might touch, something else - like handlebar or brake levers where they might touch the frame or fork. Fill empty spaces with newspaper or bubble wrap.
