time has come to put more gunk in the tyres, gone back to my maxxis ignitors (29er) and theyre almost tight enough to be able to get them to work with just the track pump but it didn't hold air. so before i get all my gubbins and walk to the garage to use the compressed air (not that far but endless plus they charge 20p!) any tips i may have overlooked?

pump like crazy
push down on the tyre by the valve (pushes the sidewalls out into the rim)
get someone else to help you pump like crazy or push down on the tyre
soapy water (cover everything in it)

have you already put the sealant in?

luggage strap or rope.
Tyre on, strap round middle of tyre, start tightening strap and encouraging tyre edges towards rim on both sides, compress tyre centre into rim well, continue tightening and encoraging edge towards rims, should reduce leakage and volume. pump like buggery....

use soapy water and hold tyre near valve anyway, its close -perhaps the strap will solve the prob.

or i could walk to the garage
