hi people,
i'm looking round at the moment for some new tyres. i currenting ride bontrager jones ACX soft compound rubber, not been overly impressed with them.I ride mainly trail centres and i have found them at times to be a bit skitty turning into corners, even when running at low pressures... any recommendations? thanks in advance ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Kenda Nevegals...not the fastest rollout tyre out there, but consistent and gives bags confidence, love em!

Specialized Eskars.

Grip as well as Nevegals, but roll faster and let go predictably when pushed rather than suddenly going as Nevegals do.

"bontrager jones ACX soft compound rubber"

Which ones are they then?

I'd like a set of those
I know theres the blackwall folding one, the wire one and the TR (tubeless ready) one. Is one of them softer than the others? (or vice versa)

I found mine slid on trail centrey corners too. I'd put it down to the lack of increased treads toward the edges. (Though the even distribution of tread (no big gaps) probably means it behaves well enough upto that point)

I've been using these recently. Nice and grippy, decent (would like more really) volume (really not a 2.35"), yet roll suprisingly well on the road at 35/45psi:
2.35" 60a folding (wire = single ply) Maxxis High Roller = 646-695g

thanks for help so far.
james- the tyres i ride are a pair of bontrager jones TR gum-bi dual compounds.(2.2). Even though they are TR, i can still run them at low pressures (25-30psi) with a tube in.
ton- thanks for the offer. if i decide to stick with bonty tyres i,ll mail you.
any views on continental mountain kings? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
