UPDATE: Reviews section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
Leicestershire isn’t blessed with particularly gnarly riding, but with the right trails and good friends, it’s a great place to ride.
There is also now 'The Tramway Trail' at Calke which can be accessed from various points outside the estate: https://www.komoot.com/tour/1384628623
This does mean you can get to the facilities at Calke Explore as well.
Blimey that takes me back. I first got into MTBing with the Derby Mercury Monday night ride from the John Thompson.
In the days before safeguarding was a thing I think they got a bit of a surprised when after about 4 years and 4 x 52 x 2 pints of Summer Gold / XXX (they used to have a brewery on-site and only brewed them seasonally) announced it was my 18th birthday!
Skip Greysich Ln and follow the road back slightly to retrace the bridleway through Cherry Tree Cottage and around the woods, it worked equally well in either direction (at least back in the days of rigid bikes).
