Any thoughts?

Ti hardtail Vs Full suss?

Ti has its natural spring and with tubeless and Ti seat post may provide some comfort. Plus maintenance free, great in the mud, lightweight etc

Full suss (4inch?) for improved comfort, stay seated for longer, but heavier, clogs easier (except Turners) and more to go wrong...

Think I'd be aiming for Turner Flux or Kona Hei Hei. 3" travel and 2.5" respectively.

Short travel full sus for me as well. I have a Kona Le Roi, similar to the Hei Hei.
I would expect that the frame weight is not really much different from a Ti frame.

Short travel full sus for me (S-Works Epic).
Having said that if it's really muddy I'll use my fully rigid Ti with 1.7" mud tyres, still get a fair bit of comfort but it won't clog up like the full sus would.

If you get the Turner it won't need much maintenance either...

Epic marathon for comfort, long rides, marathons etc. On-One scandal for winter fun and the muddy short distance race.
