hi guys, just got my new car - sadly with flush roof bars so my old clamps don't fit.
The Thule website says i need 753 feet, which is fine, if expensive, but recommends i get 4009 fixpoint fitting kit "to make it fit perfectly to your make of car" anyone know if this is essential, or if its just an add on?
PS Anyone got a set they fancy selling!?
Yes...the footpack is just the bit that connects bars to the rest of the kit i.e. bars to footpack...the fixing point is the thing that connects the actual footpack to the vehicle.
I'm also needing a fixing kit but I can't find anywhere that has it in stock...and even Thule don't know when it will be in the UK as it isn't a common kit.
Edit - ignore this just read properly and realise you need 'feet' not 'hands'
can't check exact details this minute -- but I have Thule foot and bar kit (753?) left over from an 05 Roofrailed A4 Avant if that is any use?
It is for a Suzuki Swift and the only bit I now need is the Fitting Kit - 3095 - but it's very uncommon and although listed on websites isn't actually in stock...local bike shop has been very helpful but spoke to Thule (and Fisher, I think?) and both were unfamiliar with when it was coming back into stock...
It's been ordered but no idea when it will arrive...
Sorry, that was asuming the offer from bonchance was aimed at me.
Talk to Snowchains.co.uk/roofracks.co.uk
Massive stock of everything inc spares - it's where Thule sent me when something broke.
I think I tried them...they didn't have them in stock as they aren't a common item...they can get them - like everyone else - but they didn't have them in stock.
I tried about 15 or so suppliers and they all said it was an uncommon item (due to not many people wanting roofbars for a Suzuki Swift...seems to be very few cars that this part fits) and wasn't something they carried a lot of stock for.
Such is life, it's been ordered by my local bike shop and it'll be here when it is here.
Shoulda bought a VW ๐
And pay over the odds? No thanks.
