Can you remove it with bikes attached (if you're strong enough?)

I would have thought so.
If the rack is supported while you undo the clamp bolt you should then just be able to lift the whole thing off, bikes and all.

I've never tried it but I would imagine its do-able

On my Thule euro classic it has a lock on the knob you turn to lock the locking handle down meaning the knob just spins and doesn't undo.

yip you can, it's just a bit awkward to get to the bolt on the bolt

Is this a security question or a timesaving idea when unloading the car?

Ta. Bought one, but it's a bugger getting 3 big bikes on - bar clearance to back of van (I guess cars slope away so not an issue) and the wheelbase on my bike is too long for the wheel holders.
Fork clamped, roof carriers were way easier on the car.

Ive got a three bike one and its great, the only thing we do is take the seats off (not really a big deal). The only problem Ive had is some cheeky monkey taking all the straps one day when I left it lucky a had a load of cable ties in the car!!!
