Got a little bit of cash at Xmas, looking to tweak my Voodoo Wazoo fattie. In addition to a tubeless kit & new saddle I'm going to swap the seat post.
So do I go for a dropper? given I'm mostly riding the same local technical stuff as I do on my Stumpjumper or is the Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension post worth a look ?

depends what you want - as you're aware, it's NOT a dropper so offers no benefit in that way in comparison to a rigid post
comfy though, my longish-ride xc bike has one (LT)
If you want to ride fast on ht over canal towpaths and slightly uneven BWs then the thudbuster is great, although you will want the LT option. I used one for commuting. If you ride gradients, trail centres then probably better to look at a dropper.
They do very different things so buy the one that does the thing you want. For riding 'local technical stuff' I'd say go for the dropper
They're shit & heavy, would you have a flexstem? Ti seatpost could be more beneficial.
Go singlespeed, stand all the time and use your joints as suspension
In typical STW style, I have a spare 31.6 Thudbuster LT I was planning to sell soon, should you be interested* ๐
*I don't know what size post the Voodoo takes
Have both the LT and ST.
Find both were great at making touring on a rigid bike much more comfortable.
On fun trails the LT feels weird and distracting.
Remember the elastomers are available in differing densities and also do age.
Thanks folks. I'll stick to the dropper then. I'd never seen the Thudbuster b4 so was curious.
