I think there's quite a few EC90 carbon components on the 'bay. Assuming Far East and not much to do with Easton unfortunately.

Happy to be corrected mind!

There's loads of EC90 and EC70 copies online, they are horrifyingly bad! Avoid at all costs.

You could get yourself some "Pro" sus forks on ebay for a barginous £37 too. Same colour as Fox, so they must be ok!
I think it's been said before, someone needs to build a bike out of all these shonky cheap components. Then we can get a crash test dummy (WCA? 😀 ) to give it a ride

£37 on forks... same on frame from aliexpress....

Don't the chinese sites do shite rip off groupsets too...?

Crossed fingers that the Shimano parts here in China are genuine!

https://www.taobao.com/list/product/shimano%E5%B1%B1%E5%9C%B0%E8%87%AA%E8%A1%8C%E8%BD%A6_5.htm

Exchange rate is currently GB:RMB 1:8.1973

12 speed wide range cassettes:

Deore £54.68
SLX. £this seller doesn't do the large range one unfortunately
XT. £89.11
Wuzei £34.32

I'm going to be the crash test dummy for the cheap Wuzei one, with a KMCX12 silver chain on it (£21.86 and comes with magic link, gloves, chain lube, chaintool and magic link remover)

My decent M6100 cassette and Kmc X12 paired chain is coming off for a bit.

I have bought stems, bars, saddles, grips and pedals for like £3.50 to £8.00 here and only had problems with the pedals where the pins struck a step and crushed sideways! Genuine forks, wheels and tyres are pretty cheap here too. Don't worry, I have no intention of creating a YT channel to take Ritalin and then extol the benefits of pocket money parts.

I've got a generic eBay Chinese carbon post in my lads CX / Road bike and its certainly well built, nice and light and the fittings are good quality, can't grumble for the £13 I paid.

PS. Ops seatpost is only £11.09 here in China.

Imagine having that under your bum and crossing your fingers it doesn't sheer off!

Mine (alloy clamp) did
Fitted it just before a trip to llandegla a few years ago, hit the first Jump at the top and it sheared off at the clamp, luckily only grazing inner thigh.

Completing the rest of the trail with no seat/post was flipping hard, got a few confused looks as well 😁

Cheap, Chinese, crap. Pick 3.

For clarity, not everything made in China is crap as most of the fancy carbon stuff we buy is also made there (in fact most of everything we buy). So the cheap knock-off stuff is made there along with everything else, but no Western company will touch it so they have to import it directly and sell via eBay which makes it obvious it's Chinese.

Yeah that's pretty obvious - it's just the stuff with graphics to look like big brand products that's most dodgy.

I just used Aliexpress for a Shimano HG31 8 speed 11-34 cassette... If it's genuine I'm a dutchman. There are 3 bolts in the reverse connecting all of the cassette together - except this one only has two out of the 3 bolts present.

Careful inspection of the teeth also shows that (generally) the back side of each cog is less profiled than it should be on a proper one. It was only about £4 cheaper than UK sourced as well! Didn't matter anyway as while I waited for the order to arrive, I found a barely used genuine one in the shed. The law of sod in action.

Just received the Wuzei cassette.

https://postimg.cc/gallery/TP7hbmr

It's screwed/riveted together in one piece. 547g. Doesn't have "made in" etched anywhere on it. Multiple materials and finishes to the sprockets. I'm not too fussed. As long as it shifts and doesn't destroy chains.

I "could" have got a Shimano Deore cassette (stock here still of everything, unlike a quick browse through CRC!) but since no one is writing up anything on this cassette on the English speaking Internet I thought I'd give it a blast.

This guy does lots of testing and reviews of Chinese road bike stuff.I bought a pair of the bib shorts he recommended and they are excellent.
