Don't get me started cos I've had a beer...

Thomson have been shipping these "next week" for the last 2 months.

I've emailed them direct and they are now 4 weeks past the shipping date they gave me.

The UK importer to their credit still sound positive but appear to have been given the same BS as everyone else.

The US have had them for a week or two so who knows we might get them by 2015.

Had I not been given unrealistic dates by Thomson I'd have given up waiting long ago.

Because I have contacts in the CIA, and access to Thomson's Facebook.

Did they sort out the 'issue' with it being slow in cold conditions? Remember when they were first shown at one of the trade shows they said that it was slow to operate when cold and that they were struggling to find an engineering solution. This and the price forced my hand to sell my 27.2 alpine frame, buy a 2nd hand 30.9 alpine frame and get a reverb. Worked out about the same outlay but I got a newer frame and a more available dropper post with proven after care.

Why didn't you just buy an X-Fusion 27.2, mine works really well.

5" drop is a good reason

Yep I wanted 5" drop, makes a big difference for me on my local steep stuff. Oh and I had an x fusion Hilo, it was average at best.

Its here!!

Strange thing to fit

No idea where the cable adjuster is situated - at the lever or the saddle?

The cable adjuster wouldn't fit snug in anything, so considered cutting the cable and fitting it half way along

Then thought, sod it - lets see if it works without - and it did!

Everything works fine - but a bit of grime might change all that

A lovely peice of engineering - but hard to see why it costs £100 more than a Reverb - but then again - the Reverb doesn't come in the diddy 27.2mm diameter 🙁

Nah, sorry - was to dark last night when i finished it and been riding in a monsoon tonight so to scared to get the camera out!

Fitted it to a Singular Puffin and its completely transformed the bike!!

Very happy boy - the post work brilliantly - easily as good as the Reverb at this early stage

Shreck - did they fit the barrel adjuster - and if so - where? The lever or the post end?

Cheers

Interested to hear how these go over time as may need one myself.

Regards the comment about a Reverb being £100 cheaper, that's only cos noone sells them at RRP/list. They're still £300 posts even though they often sell £150-£190, presumably due to discounting and in some cases OEM parts not full retail... The bigger size Thomson droppers have surfaced around £230-240 at times, I guess these will, too.

Spoke to a local shop at the weekend and the distributor has them down as being in stock in 3 weeks or so. Can't remember the exact date.

I've just splurged on a Thomson dropper as well, and I'm similarly indecisive about where to put the barrel adjuster. The fact that you'll potentially have four outer hose ends and they only supply two end caps has left me wondering if I'm being a mechanical numpty.

I didn't fit the barrel adjuster and haven't needed to make any adjustments since - so I wouldn't bother.

I've been running mine for about 2 months now and happy so far

I didn't bother with the barrel adjuster - it made no sense what so ever to me and i'm an Aerospace Engineer!!

Very pleased but there is quite a bit of rotational play appeared - hoping that it is just bedding in and won't get any worse

With the non-covert ones, they discontinued the barrel adjuster because it wound loose. Interesting that the coverts are shipping with it.
