Run the battery down a bit in the electronic remote, might get a bit lighter?

Tires probably - you could take a couple of pound off with a lighter pair of tire. Bottom bracket and seatpost, if they are both cheap, could cost another 200g...

Maybe the battery connected to the remote lock out.

I'm sure there is a thread relating to pointless car features, what about pointless bike features i.e. Electric remote lockout

14kg isn't 29lb. It's a gnat under 31. Are you weighing the bike by any chance? ๐Ÿ˜†

Scales are notoriously inaccurate. And you're right, it shouldn't weigh that much.

Is this the Pitch replacement?

those tyres will be causing some weight, but not enough to justify just under 31lb. I'd go for some 2.1 Schwalbes to save some weight, my RRs are 460g a tyre, electronic remote lockout can't be that light, considering i dont run lockout at all.

I'd also vouch for scales being mega wrong too. whats the rest of the spec of the bike? pedals, post, stem, seat? controls? cranks? mechs?

eurgh. what bits are on that? can't tell from the picture but i'm guessing CODA stem, post, and cranks. and flats, for something more racey you'll be running SPDs no less

considering that the wifes 'dale weighs just short of 25lb and is a xs frame I think it's entirely possible that the seller may have got it wrong

i think you could build it up suitably, its just a question of cost for the bits to do it, and weather you want to spend it, before it becomes more economical to start a fresh.

those tyres are 800g each. I'e no idea why the owner would have put them on.

Are you sure you know what you're doing here? You've bought a few pigs in a poke in your time here. Lefty's need regular servicing else you can have all sorts of bother . Has this been done? Servicing isn't cheap either.

Maybe you would be better off with a simple reliable race hardtail with Reba's or similar?

thats what i was saying, you'd be better off buying a 2nd hand on one scandal/kenesis maxlight/specialized etc etc or something similar running rebas
