So I'm doing the London to Brighton off road tomorrow as part of Team Paxton. 5 weeks ago I had my inguinal hernia repaired. Had an incision infection, chest infection and whilst out "pastering it up" I busted my tooth on an olive..... I suppose I should have added - will I die.......
On a plus note the Team has raised over £15000 for the British heart foundation....
Dunno if you'll die, I hope not. Take it easy and enjoy and well done on earning so much sponsorship.
All the best, I'm sure it'll go fine! Just had a hernia operation myself today, feeling a bit raw but had keyhole- so hoping for a reasonably quick recovery.
Post up how the ride goes!
Cheers guys. Roadwarrior - good luck with the repair. I had open surgery but the best advice I can give is eat loads of fruit or laxatives and use a pillow to cover the wound if you cough or sneeze. Oh and take it easy for a while. 🙂
£15K for london to brighton? On what, a roller skate? Or just well connected with "write it off against tax" types?!
If you have (or recently had) a chest infection take it easy. Mate of ours kept training through a chest infection and ended up in hospital.
Done it. God knows how and I'm broken but it's done. Hardest thing I have ever done and also the proudest.
Jeesus I really am done in. Recommend it to anyone 🙂
A few businesses chipped in including a whopping 6.5K from a Chinese electronic manufacturer.
An amazing day with some truly amazing people 🙂
Superb, well done
Be proud Waller. Congrats
Cheers guys 🙂
