Its not had brilliant reviews though has it, also you can only invert the image in editing not via the camera which limits it for mounting options
Much better for playback though via smartphone

It also appears to have very limited mounting options compared to a Gopro or a Contour.

have to say I've been disappointed with the reviews. I thought this was going to be a cracking little camera but it appears not.

Wait for v 2.0 I think (or get the new gopro)

Yes just unpacked it and not easy to mount but the standard tripod screw means it should be easy to make up various mounting solutions .

I wanted it for its supposedly better low light performance as the gopros were dreadful

Had mine for a month now, great quality footage, the anti shake seems to work, I've got a helmet mount which is all I need

Any chance of seeing some "real" footage as opposed to the highly-produced stuff?

Well can say that it does beat the gopro 1 and 2 in the low light stakes
Nothing exciting just on the back road for a trial

Been out today to try and get some impression on the cameras performance
got 3 little vids and am pretty impressed.

straight from camera to Youtube no messing about and light levels a large selection .

first vid is just a panorama in weak sunshine .

second is a ride through the forest and here it is good what you dont see here is the dark bits were very dark but the camera coped well
and quite fast to change from dark to sunshine better I think than the Gopro 1 and 2 for low light stuff
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCxaep39ong

third video is on the road in fairly bright sunshine and again pretty good quality .
another impressive thing imho is the steady shot stabilization

That does look clear and stable.

What are the mounts like?

I have a contour hd and whilst I really like the quality I want to be able to fit it more chest mounted sometimes to get the bike in shot. Footage can appear a little slow with the contour on my head, I am considering a gopro for an alternative but would like to know about the Sony first.

Trout: How is the camera mounted in the two day shots?

Mounting is its weak point but with a standard tripod screw mount on the base its easy to bodge up a solution

the night shots were with a converted Gopro chesty and todays I cobbled up this frame mount from some delrin I had kicking about in the garage.

it works well if I lower it on the frame so as to see the wheel and forks working
