I don't know what you'd call this ("perforated leisure shoe"??), but "sandal" is the wrong word for it. 😯
You know you're going wrong when you find yourself talking about a "sandal" being good because "They have a proper protective enclosure for your toes and a full length tongue to cushion the top of your feet from the straps". Mongrel hybrid footwear. Neither one thing nor t'other.
If we're going to have a long, hot summer, I shall be wearing PROPER sandals with holes in them, like Jesus. And if I get a bit chilly doing that I shall be wearing stripey socks under them.
Warned, you have been.
👿
Jesus had holes in his hands AND feet.
Get it right, for Christs' sake.
I likes the look of them.....
I rather like the look of those for those long summer non-technical rides. Would be lovely for a jaunt across the Plain, or the leafy green tracks around Greenham Common way. Thanks for pointing them out...!
I prefer my spd flip flops.
Shimano did a spd sandal years back iirc?
Keen do some, as well. Nice and wide, with proper toe rands. DOn't know where to buy them, tho'
I don't normally like that sort of thing but.... they look quite good really.
I'm sure they'll look worse in the flesh!!
those Merrell sandals get really stinky footbeds after a wee while, and no, it's not just my feet that cause it.
On the other hand, those Merrell & shimano ones are perfect examples of why I don't normally like that sort of thing - GRIM!!!
I'd love a SPD version of these;

I use them for dinghy sailing and warm weather yachting and they're lovely. Really nice ventilation, but not too exposed. Would be a great summer ride shoe. There's not really anything that well ventilated for bike use.
I avoid sniffing footbeds, on principle. But yep, pretty sure they're rank. 😉
Picked up some Salomon ones similar to the Shimanos from TK Maxx in Bolton recently.
Very comfy, but not had the nerve to try them on the bike yet.
Think they were £15.00.
BigD, link please!

Warned, you have been.
nice Yoda channelling there BD....
how would they work with some Sealskinz? No more wet shoes...mmmmmm!
Gayers.
Shimano MT90's year round here. 8)
I love the fact those Keen ones say "Waterproof" down the side...!
I've just got some Innov8 Mudrocs. Proper trainers, but very vented so nice and cool.
I've never been a fan of sandals. I think my feet are just too narrow for them to fit properly.
