okay now this is thick I know..................
but how come say a 32 tooth chainring is physically bigger than a 32 tooth sprocket?
The pitch of the chain is the same on both, so how does it work?
(all this talk of 11 speed and 42 tooth cassettes got me thinking about this.....)

Cassettes are Whitworth, chainrings are AF, I think

Cassettes aren't really smaller, they're just further away.

ben - does that mean bikes with long chainstays have higher gears ?!
(no wonder a tandem needs 2 people ๐ฏ )
