Pretty much all year I've not been able to get out. When I have the weather forecast has always been dire, but somehow I got away with it every ride, even a 4hourer to Macc Forest'n'back. All my night time excursions were completed without a drop of the wetness.
I did so much my wheels died! (well, rims and spokes did)
I ordered a new pair and they arrived three weeks ago. Since then it hasn't bastard stopped and I tihnk it's karma hitting me big time. I've been round the block twice.....that's it! a couple of miles at best!! I can feel myself getting fatter by the day.
Now I don't mind getting cacked in mud, I live in the NW for cocks sake, but with the conditions at the mo you can't even see the mud for the rivers running off the trails. Even Reddish Vale which is a classic 'all-year-rounder' is about to be renamed Reddish Marina.....probably.

I've checked the forecast and it's only gonna get worse.

Sorry.

Tis the way I do it ๐Ÿ™‚
It makes a good night route as well.

edit: to compound the issue I bought some over trousers as well but I thinks it's too crap even for them.

I use it more at night to scare owls. By day I use it as a start point for much longer rides.

No, it is my fault. I have a magic jacket, an Endura waterproof thingy. I have had it for years and whenever I pack it in the car or get it out as it looks like it is going to be wet, the rain holds off. I think it has only ever got wet about 3 times since I got it (the first Mountain Mayhem at Eastnor). It has rained before I ride, after I ride but never during a ride. Aware how capricious the weather gods are, I have mentioned it to no one (apart from my wife) and all has been well. Well, not so long ago I mentioned it out loud, in the open air, to some peeps and since then catastrophe. See for yourself what has happened to the weather so it really is a case of mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Sorry guys!
