Thin knee pads for under trousers: recommendations please

Sure do. There's a G-Form store on Amazon (through prices seem to have hiked, like everything else...) if you can't find anywhere else.

Endura singletrack lite fit nicely under those pantaloons.

POC VPD Air aren't overly bulky.

Rapha trail pads are nice and lightweight but work well

Rapha trail pads the best I've ever worn or tried, beating poc endura fox ixs rf bluegrass and a few others I'm sure. They are also rated as high as full on dh kneepads despite being lighter than most light pads.

If you want Uber thin, the fox Enduro d30 are maybe 20-30% thinner but much much less protective.

Rapha trail are comfy and slim. however, not had a big spill in them yet to fully test..no side protection, upper shin and kneecap only.

Comfy and slim. Wear them under trousers all the time.

I've currently got half a pair of Rapha kneepads. Which are indeed insanely comfy and quite slim so would go under trousers nicely.

The problem is that the lycra "kneewarmer" bit (the pad insert is removable which is a great idea) tears when you drag it at speed down rocks... Minimal damage to my knee, which was nice, bar some fun hexagonal pattern bruising from the texture inside the pad.

Sadly Rapha don't sell the lycra bit on its own, which I feel is missing a trick, and while they agreed to repair it FOC, its been with them 7 weeks and counting so far!

My wife had the raphas as well and they tore on a small crash leaving a huge hole in her knee. I wouldn’t trust them in a crash.

Fox Enduro D30 fit the bill, slim, comfy and paddy Is fine for non full on DH riding.

Pearl izumi Summits are nice and light not too bulky
Crash tested and worked well! The padding is quite long so doesn't slide up or down to expose the knee
The upper elasticated bit does come up quite high, Very breathable tho

the fox launch D3O pads are fairly slim line for a pad with more protection than the the fox enduro's / G-Form type slip ons. bought some for to fit under my riding trouser as my favoured Ion K-pacts were too big and led to sore knee caps when using them under trousers

Following from @chakaping 's recommendation, the Ixs flow light https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ixs-flow-light-knee-guards-2022/rp-prod209497 look ideal for this.... But I've never seen let alone tried a pair so hoping the singletrackworld massif has someone who has. I have the ixs flow evo+ as my pedally day out pads and they've fared pretty well over the last 3 years but need replaced. If the flow light is the same protection pad, but in a package that reaches higher up the leg, then it would be just perfect for me, and I suspect for bonni's use too.

Interesting. Looking at some of the online reviews on retail web-sites, there seems to be a recurring theme of the lightweight knee sleeves getting holes in due to small offs and snagging on rocks, branches etc.. As an under-trouser protection layer they should be grand though.
