Given the weather been idly looking looking at turbo trainers. Last Time I looked they were all proper branded ones at £120+ but eBay seems to be full of magnetic ones for between 40-60 quid. It's the same one from loads of sellers with different stickers on. Anyone tried them? Bargin or too good to be true?

It does look very like a minoura hypermag+ (which would be good).

I have a cheap ebay turbo trainer

Its solid and does the job

My only question mark would be that on my slicked MTB the resistance isn't enough to destroy me in say 20 seconds even in top gear

Not the end of the world but maybe not the tool for following some perscriptive high intensity programme

I bought one. Not bad quality, got a remote resistance control. It doesn't change much from easy to full on though. Still, 50 quid including shipping, can't complain! Better than sitting on yer bum! I found that pedalling in a higher gear helped to control the resistance. Narrow (40) tyres on my 29er at 80psi.
