2621kms. All off road proper mountain bike rides for fun with no commuting. Quite a lot down on last year but then again I took quite a bit of time out due to having tennis elbow and feeling the need to get pished in fields listening to bands. I did a whole month off the bike for the first time since starting mountain biking, something that even a separated shoulder couldn't make me do!

100 mile a week x 48 = 4800
300 mile tour 300
other rides 200

total 5300

with a dodgy engine too........

Great effort big man.

Don't need technology to break it down for me - not enough by far. Worst year I've had for it...

A whopping 1007.7miles (according to VDO computer on each bike). Almost all of it "off road", even if a lot is gravel path. I don't bother counting 2min rides to the shops.

Bigger target for 2013.

C2,300 miles according to sporttracks and map my run. Includes lots of road, commutes from August, and lots of family trail rides.

First time I've really recorded

A very modest 937 miles - I didn't even make the 1000 mile mark! This year should be somewhat better - I start a new job in a couple of weeks and this combined with moving house means I should be able to ride in. I still don't expect to chalk up the huge distances some have on here, but any improvment is fine with me!

Here's my strava dump. Not bad, not great, and mostly commuting. Hoping for 2013 to provide some weather that will make we want to ride offroad more

Endo says:
2011 - Road 11236, MTB 1128 😀
2012 - Road 6778, MTB 1955 😯

Which for me is both depressing and enlightening.. Road has been cut down due to work related travel but MTB up because I can fit lots of smaller/shorter rides.
I'm hoping to return back to do more Road in 2013 though.

3374 miles exclusively on a mountain bike

137 total activities

380,000 ft of descending!

total duration - 24 days

This includes a little road work connecting off-road routes but no commuting

Need to do more in 2013!

Elevation Gain: 760,154 ft
Avg Speed: 17.3 mph

started 21st Jan last year with garmin and also missed 3 weeks in summer due to broken garmin being replaced which in total cost me about 2000 miles for the 6 weeks misses.

Just over 13000 miles for the year then, which is about 2000 short of target. 15k for this year definately

Endomondo says 2409.41 mi but I reckon that's only about 90% of rides.

Inspiring stuff.

Do you actually do any "training" or do you just ride your bike?

In my 2012 ride log I have:

7,407km road
970.5km turbo
40km offroad(!)

Mostly from the SE and a nice trip to France

Anyone know any apps I can enter distances manually? Like a simple distance log book, but more complicated and electric. I got the right hump with strava/iPhone GPS droping my rides.

I reckon Mike Hall wins with his 18000 mile round the world trip in 92 days (plus the ridiculous amount of 200+ training rides he did!)

Hey mudshark - how did you create the map overlay of all your routes in the SE?

According to Strava 8,879 and just over 400 hours which works out as I spent less than 5% of the year cycling in 2012 which doesn't seem much when you put it like that.

The usual 'just over 4000 miles' of which about two thirds will have been off road and almost all on singlespeeds.

On Strava - 1748 miles. Most of that accounted for in doing Lands End - John O Groats in September and then that Rapha Festive 500 between Xmas and NYE.

Few other rides on there but not a lot, I don't tend to record all my rides, certainly not my commutes.

Rough guess, including all commutes is somewhere in the region of 4500 - 5000 miles which is a lot less than it used to be.

That includes turbo training so messes up my elevation readings.

i would say about 1500 - 2000 miles or so. A few events in there, kielder 100, 10 UTB ( didnt record glentress 7) etc which were 100 mile + events. More road and commuting for me

6,750 miles which was split 33%mtb / 67% road. Also 16 hours on turbo.

Poor weather knocked me back really, did more in 2011 and should do more in 2013. Also want to get mtb % up which should be easy as 3 planned rides are going to bag ~3,000 miles.

2,140 miles measured, plus about 500 commuting etc. Not a lot compared to a lot of you but 25% more than I did last year, so I'm happy. Over 90% road sadly - only got on the mtb 6 times 🙁 . Would love to do more next year but as we've got Rocket v3 due in June it ain't going to happen. Guess I'll just have to front load the year as much as I can 😉

must be over estimating by recovery eating. Still...only 7kg to go to be at my prime!! Talking about being over 'race weight', remind me again roughly how much heavier than me you are ???:).
P.s. should of got shares in cadburys, would of been worth a fortune by now

Max HR 251 !!!

2471 miles recorded on Strava. Gutted as target was 2500 but weather/man flu/xmas meant I just couldn't make those last 2.

Expecting far higher figures next year as only owned the road bike 6 months and covered 1546 miles on it.

Red is road, orange off road, pink and proud (dodging rain on turbo in garage - although not too much of this to be fair). 5266k for the year. 1k only off road.
