Do you know that she's actually only got two pairs of shoes, and has sold her children to pay for her habit?

It's not funny you know.

It's an illness. ๐Ÿ™

Well, they don't do a Ragley piggy in a 14", so may consider a scandal.
Any ideas from you mamadirt, would be much appreciated.

Is mamadirt actually a psuedoname for Ton?
I mean has anyone actually ever seen them in the same room?
Or even riding the same type of bike?

Just a thought.

If that Cotic is Ton's the top tube must be about 20 foot long ๐Ÿ™‚

Have you seen the size of Ton's bikes CHB? Mine would fit inside the main triangle ๐Ÿ˜† .

Hey Bunnyhop, what about the new Ragley Piglet? - those are going to be available in a 14", as I think are the new Blue Pigs.

When it comes to buying bikes, Mama makes Ton look like a rank amateur. Compared to her, he's not even trying.

Yes I have seen the size of Ton's bike(s).
I imagine if you are the same person that Ton is your weekend exo-skeleton, bit like that alien in Men in Black.

"Welcome to the last bike you'll ever ride"

mamadirt - I know you've had an Inbred. How would you compare the cotic with that?
I'll have to sell my inbred frame and really fancy the Bfe. The only concern is climbing, my inbred is nicknamed the mountain goat. Also I'm a tentative DHer, even though its rocky and hilly where we live will it be too much for me?
Appreciate you thoughts, now you've had a couple of days riding the cotic.

Thanks

Jane

Hi Jane. Reach-wise I'd say they're pretty similar. The BFe with forks at 120mm feels slightly more slack than my Inbred with 100mm up front (mine was one of the original 80-100mm versions) - that said I left them at 140ish after yesterday's play in the woods and it felt fine on the road ride home. It climbs very well and feels super-nippy after the tiny f/s bikes I've been riding recently - my Inbred was singlespeed so it's nice to have the option of a few bail out gears now ๐Ÿ˜‰ . I'd guess that the BFe frame would be a little heavier than the Inbred - I was surprised to find that mine weighs 30lbs but that's with coil sprung Lyriks, Maxxis super-tacky's and a heavyish wheelset. Have to say it's really comfy - waaay more so than the little alu Tazer hardtail I built up before Christmas - I'm hoping it's going to fit the bill as the perfect do-it-all bike for me and with Lyriks up front it feels as if it'll be able to plough through anything - I just need to learn to hang on ๐Ÿ˜† . If you're ever visiting Cwmcarn and fancy a spin on it then get in touch.

Thanks mama.
Just been talking to crazylegs and he thinks it'll be too stiff for me.
May get over to 18bikes and see if they have anything I can try out.

MD - just out of interest, the wife wants a new bike this spring and is set on something womens specific. Have you ever ridden anything thats womens specific and how do you find they differ from a 'mans' frame?

I've only had a quick spin on a Trek WSD bike many years ago and at the time felt it was quite short (back in the day when I was riding 16" frames with 22" top tubes). I do have quite long arms but recently have got used to shorter bikes (my Commencal is a tiny 20.5" TT and really confidence inspiring on the downhills) - only downside of a shorter bike is that the lack of room makes them harder work on the climbs. The BFe climbs very well and feels roomy - fingers crossed I can handle the downs as well.
