Obviously, quite a few folks on here ride to work, including me. When I ride to work, I see quite a few folks riding to work. I wonder to myself sometimes when I see folks riding to work when I'm riding to work whether any of those folks are the folks from here that ride to work. So, I'm going to start the official STW Commuter Club.

To become a member you simply need to register here with where and what you ride to work in order that other members in the area can recognise and raise the STW Commuter Club greeting (TBC, I'm thinking "alright **** nut!", but I'm open to ideas).

So, I'll start:

Where - Churchdown to Bishop's Cleeve via Swindon Village.
What - a bee-you-tiful purple-forked 1995 Marin, complete with de-riguer skinny slicks and full mudguards.

Been doing it for a few years now. It isn't 2 bad as long as you remember to keep your position on the road. In fact going home most days there are nice long lines of cars to pass.

What time are you in Shawlands Bob?

I usually leave around 8:10-ish. You'll pass the Tesco Express at Pollokshaws East train station? I live right there but I take a slightly longer & quieter route into town!

I grew up in Kilmarnock and the drive to Glasgow was a PITA. Kudos for cycling it! ๐Ÿ˜†

Aye it's good route as I pretty much avoid cars until I reach the squinty bridge.

The other alternative if I'm in a rush is up Tantallon Rd (which runs parallel to Kilmarnock Rd) then through Queens Park and up Victoria Rd which is a lot better than Kilmarnock Rd/ Pollokshaws Rd/ Eglinton St!
