It's utter S H one T to ride in. We have had just the one fall from last week which is now rutted and frozen and you need 6" of full sus (which I don't have) just to ride on it.
Now I'm going to have to find some dull route to ride on Sunday.
Wish it would all go away.
😡
Round here it's not the actual trials that pose a problem but getting to them. However I have a plan for tommorow.
Everywhere here is really icy, so I haven't been out on my bike for weeks. 🙁
Is it a cunning plan?
I've "found" 3x decent hills that I've always overlooked as boring when dry.
They're a great challenge for some good hill-work as it turns out in this weather.
Maybe revisit some local hills / slopes (as I did today to good effect) & re-asses what works best in this present, iced over, hard snow?
Since 25th Dec, I've only missed 3 days riding.
Not too bad up there today OG, me and Rich managed to get round without falling off!
Oldgit we road round the sustrans route at Stuartby today (millenuim forest).
The sno livened up a dull rid. I taught my kids to do rear wheel skid turns. You are correct that its bumpy. I was OK on my hardtail but my son ended up on my wifes rigid bike. His comment was, I understand why they invented suspension forks now....
I took myself off to Ashridge via Ivinghoe Beacon, terrific riding.
