Is good. Not better than the other way- it's less out and out fast and a bit less techy, but has its flow on, and a lot of fun switchbacks that'll test your hippity hop skills. We didn't know it was there last time we did it as it's not on the map and visibility was grim, but if you've already done the main way down this route is a nice change and is a longer descent.
That and it looks fit-
Nice! which way does it go from the summit?
When you get to the top after going up the normal way (which I'd still recommend) just go straight on past the trig point and there's a bit you have to walk down. You can see the trail from the top bit of the normal way up.
Bonus is it's also much quieter.
Yes, just had a look on google earth. ๐
Just rereading, when I say "it's not better", it doesn't mean it's worse. Just different.
Marion- last time we were up there it snowed and like I say, we had no idea this other route was there because you couldn't see it!
Is there a chair lift?
This is a belter of a pic, a potential award winner or lucrative advertising seller I reckon... love it ๐

Is there a chair lift?
No, you have to use your legs unfortunately.
Well, on that basis, I'm out.
Is there a chair lift?
Yes, you can, if you like, lift a chair all the way to the summit.
Psychle- thanks, I'm really pleased with that one.
Spokes - you should be, it is a absolute belter. what camera you using? You do know there are companies out there that will turn pictures into wallpaper don't you ๐
Was it 'just' a snap, or did you set it up? It really is very good... perfect composition (to my eye, though some might argue the rider coming out of the right is a little distracting, I reckon it adds to the whole image) and pretty much perfect exposure (did you use a filter to get the whole exposure range in??), and the beautiful golden light... lush ๐
I keep looking at it and getting a little lost in it, which is a great achievement, it's one of those images that manages to capture the whole essence of something, a real gem, congrats! ๐
It's all done on a Canon S70 point and shoot with a broken flash and cracked screen. I set it up to take nice pictures in alpine sunshine and never touched the settings since.
We'd just fixed a puncture, it was about 8pm, the guys set off and I just saw that and thought "I'll have that"!
