I'm on a trip to North Wales at the moment and today I rode at Gwydir.
Here's the same scene from 16th April 2018. I see I'm still sitting on the same saddle.
Further round.
Big, long human powered ride today. Surprised myself but not dying on my arse within 30 minutes.
Still got accused of being on an e-bike while overtaking someone. I couldn't respond because I was blowing too much.
Lovely afternoon ride down to Feshiebridge and back.
Still a smattering of snow on the mountains too.
One of those days when the lochs are as blue as the sky!
@fruitbat - I'd though of heading over to Granish Moor to check out the fire damage but went south instead, otherwise I might have bumped into you.
The fire damage is quite extensive. Me and Mrs Fruitbat guessed it was quite recent as the burnt smell was still in the air.
More extended commuting ...
Grey and coooolllld this morning!
Bit warmer, sunny and windy this afternoon.
Sorry for the multiple images. We only went once 😃
1st solo ride probably this year! On the tail end of a nasty flu/virus and a dodgy back. Just rode the gravel fire road at my local woods. Bumped into some riding mates too, and had some good chats.
The weather was perfect, sunny and a slight chill in the air, and a good audiobook playing in one ear. Love it.
I managed to get out early yesterday and do a bit of an annual early-spring pilgrimage from Durham to Bolt's Law and back.
Looking SW from the trig point on Bolt's Law towards Cross Fell:
Looking North over Hexhamshire Common:
Conditions under-wheel were generally good, but the easterly breeze had a bit of a cold edge to it!
I went to Antur Stiniog today, my first go at being uplifted. I did 12 runs and it was definitely all right, so I will probably do it again. I guess the FlareMAX is not the ideal bike but it coped just fine.
Not a hugely exciting photo but in the same vein as much of what else has been posted in the past week or so - lovely, dry, fast running, not yet overgrown woodland singletrack 😍 😍 😍
(Not very far from @hardtailonly last night!)
Photo is a cropped still from a 59 gram action camera, went out to have a play with settings and exposure, change some filters etc. The quality of kit available to consumers now is incredible really!
A nice start to a Monday morning. Pre-work loop around Falkirk's trails and canal paths. Simply lovely 😀
And sometimes setting the bike up for a pic doesn't go to plan. The propping stick wasn't up to the job...
Led here still rubbing the dust out of my eyes after epic Enduro session down the Wye valley. So many great new trails to enjoy on the eeeb... both up and down. And the bluebells!! Absolutely everywhere...
Brilliant commute this morning - sublime singletrack, jumps & berms, gorgeous weather, stunning bluebells & wild garlic!
Lovely day today so went for a quick spin on my lunch break. My first non-electric ride since December😲
Missed the normal Weds night crew due to ****** work. Sneaked in 90 mins between endless Teams calls and it going dark. Still felt that earned me a pub visit. Stunning sunset, and still fantastic bluebells.- now with added flowering garlic - on our local trails.
One of my favourite loops today, from Kirkby Stephen over Smardale Fell to Ravenstonedale, then up to the top of Wild Boar Fell via the Pennine Bridleway and back to Kirkby Stephen by some of the nice bridleways in the Eden valley. Very breezy, but that kept the views reasonable.
Looking over the Eden valley to Mickle Fell and Cross Fell from The Nab:
Wild Boar Fell summit cairn looking NW over the Howgills towards the Lake District:
Looking South, all the 3 peaks on display:
Glorious evening in the 'foyle. Trails were shockingly dry after only a couple of weeks without significant rain: proper 2025 conditions (all going tits-up from Saturday, regrettably).

Bluebells just starting to come out - about a week or two from Peak-Blewb, I reckon. Couldn't resist pushing up the last bit of Boogie Line to finish with the rock garden and floaty drop-off.
Snapped some very mediocre pics of moonrise and sunset from the same bridge (cameo from Ben Lomond in the latter).
I went out for a short spin around my local woods last night and it was fantastic. So dry that the ground felt crunchy. Relatively warm for central Scotland. My bike was running so smoothly and popping off every contour in the ground that I actually ended up in 5th place on a Strava segment. I've never been in an individual top 10 of anything in my life!
Just one of those evenings that put the winter grind into perspective. Happy days. 😁
Another big leg powered ride today. I'm only grabbing the e-bike on days when I'm physically unable to pedal.
Almost got car envy when I spotted a beige Volvo but then I realised it's not a wagon. Like, what is the point of a Volvo saloon?
I was feeling hard done by on the local bluebell front until I found this lot earlier today. And, riding through dense woodland, I smelled the wild garlic before I saw it...

Sunnier this morning, pity I've agreed to an afternoon/evening shift.

Had a good ride around the eastern edge of the pennines on Wednesday morning, with excellent views in all directions, including across to the Cheviots and Deadwater
and over Weardale to Cross Fell
