Surely the length of the day depends on where you live??

Looking forward to the sun, in any case!!

That's classed as a fine day, as there is blue sky to be seen.

Not mega miles ... but about 5 years ago a few mates decided to do Snowdon after work on the longest day, it was overcast and damp, in fact once we got to the top we could only see about 20 feet as it was in cloud. I pulled out the hip flask, we had a swig and then donned rain jackets and getting cold headed back down. Not the planned sunset moment. One of us drew first blood on the descent but we limped back to the cars and chalked it up to experience.

ahhh the best laid plans and all that.

The longest day is pretty much always the 21st June.. I know this because it's my birthday..

In days of yore probably the most important and rambunctious festival of debauchery and bacchanalia on the calender..
Folk born on this day were revered for their wisdom and majesty, and rightly so.. 8)

I'll probably be stuck at home trying to stop the kids from murdering one another..

On our Midsummer Night ride last year we had fog/mist, hail, rain and wind - still light though 😳

As a lad the 19hrs of day in the summer was ace (sun coming up at 4am), but conversely the 6hrs in the winter was rather glum (Shetland btw).

why does daylight matter?
Our usual midsummer ride involves seting off from Garrigill at 5pm, over High Cup Nick and Cross Fell and returning in darkness at 2am 🙂

Sweet, this is the day I travel to Scotland for a weekend of riding (and lots of drinking) with mates.
