My bike creaks. I want to make it stop. Help. Please.

It only creaks under load (singlespeed so it's under load lots). Things I've checked already:
Pedals (threads cleaned and copper greased)
Cranks (Not loose, greased)
Chain rings bolts (new ones didn't help, greased threads)
Chain line (straightened)
Chain tension (didn't make difference either way)
Brakes (not rubbing)
Wheel (in straight)

Things I reckon it might be:
BB dying
Infuriating

Would swapping to an oval ring have caused this?

If you give it a week or two it'll be winter and wet and horrible so all the creaks will fix themselves until about May.

Neil: Just the usual threaded shimano job. It's already had a good winters worth of abuse to be fair.

Seat rails, knees, BB, pedals... Usually one of these.
Have you tried taking bb cups off, complete clean and regrease?

It's not the seat rails for definite, it creaks when I'm standing. Taking the bb cups off isn't a bad shout.

grease and tighten the wheel axles. Grease & tighten around the mech hanger.
& have you tried swapping the pedals out?

edit: won't be mech hanger with singlespeed then.

External BB.? Have you tried re-tensioning the none drive side preload nut.? If so strip the cranks out of it and see how smooth the bearings are. If they are ok then put the cranks back in and grease everything. If they are a rough (usually the drive side goes first) then consider replacing it. You can if you are careful take the BB out and gently prize the plastic covers off then the seal that sits behind. Make sure you don't damage anything. Give the internals a good spray with gt85 to clear out the old contaminated grease and wash through with hot water. Leave to dry properly then re-pack with fresh grease and pop the seals back on. Jobs a good'un. I have resurrected a several BB's doing this.

Crikey! I've had an annoying tick on my road bike for ages, perhaps it's time to look into it more seriously...

Anyway, QRs always worth a look for mystery creaks IME.

You've checked the seatpost clamp?

BB out and cleaned is a good idea. You can try wrapping teflon tape on the threads to see if this makes a difference, had that work before.

Torque wrench if you're really desperate.
