[#11408483]

We're off up to Kendal next weekend for a spot of biking (should've been in the alps, but you know, the lakes will be just as good).

We were wondering about doing that ride in the howgills, but I dug out an old thread on here by dannyh and the general gist is that its crap after its been wet. So does anyone know what the current conditions are likely to be like - is it worth a ride?

Any other suggestions for a no hike a bike (but still decent fast/steep/techy singletrack) ride in the wider area?

We had heavy rain yesterday and a load more coming in on Saturday... I’d give the howgills a miss if I were you.

Did it in the summer. Was damp in places.

I'd not touch it now...

Lakes is far more weatherproof, and, um, better anyway. You are getting in the car anyway, so why not gz bridleways / ambleside / coniston or staveley if you don't want to drive far.
