[#2777528]

Was a bit bored today so went over and picked it up. I've used a newspaper to prove to the doubters that it's shot today.

Interesting facts:
DT Swiss licensed rear 'Maxle' included so if you're running MK1 Hope Pro 2 hubs, the skewer is parallel and so the bearings are supported better. GOOD!
Someone was wondering over on this thread:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/nukeproof-megas-are-in-the-uk
Whether the inside of the seat tube was obstructed. Looks clear all the way down.
As this frame was about 2 weeks earlier than I expected, I haven't got all my build kit but I just had to have it in my hands! More pics and vids soon when it's built up fully.

Looks good. I'm surprised no one has asked you to pop it on the scales yet.

What's the finish like? Bits faced nicely? Paint job ok?

Errrr think you mean Rock Shox licensed Maxle unless Nukeproof are using the RWS system from DT Swiss, which i doubt.

Finish is unusual. Nice looking anodising, quite shiny on main tubes, slightly more 'matt' on the welds. Welds look very good. Facing looks ok.

nickegg:
It's a Nukeproof/DT Swiss branded skewer, you tell me!
One of these:
http://www.dtswiss.com/Products/Components/RWS/RWS-X-12.aspx
but with DT Swiss and Nukeproof logos.
Errr, I got the frame with it in so I don't doubt.

That looks like the RWS skewer I had once (not the exact one, you know!). THink it'll be 10mm, not the 12 of a maxle....
You got come vernier callipers?

DT Swiss RWS then, i have one on my Tricon wheels (135x10) and think they're alot better than Maxles. Your's will either be 135x10, 135x12 or 142x12..i think!

It's a DT Swiss X12 rear axle licensed from Syntace (if they charge for use). Better than Maxle though probably!

You better get a 20mm front axle fork to go on that - anything else would be wrong.

Given the music and the loving nature of the camerawork I was half expecting a cut-back shot of you spaffing all over the shock.

Fortunately this did not occur.

Ahem! Was a close run thing...

Music was on We7, I think it was 'Silverchair', didn't choose it myself! I didn't read the paper, it was the cheapest Sunday newspaper I could get! Anyway, they don't publish the Morning Star on a Sunday!

Yes, got a pair of 160mm 20mm axled Lyriks. What I meant was, I'd like a matching 20mm DT Swiss axle/skewer to match the rear, is there such a thing? I prefer the Marzocchi style skewer, the Rockshox one is a bit cack.

I thought the scalpe in the lbs looked a bit shoddy, welds all over the place, though the paint finish looked good

Looks good. Did you weigh it?
The DT skewer thing is weird. I thought Maxle and X12 are not compatible. But DT only makes X12 skewers according to their webpage.

I wondered when the weight request was coming! I'll try tomorrow, I'm not sure if I've got any accurate scales.

No frame weight yet, can't find the scale things.
444 views of my youtube vid and it's not even searchable on youtube!

Oh, RWS x12 skewer system, fits my Pro 2s perfectly and a lot lighter than Rockshox offering.

Looks pretty sweet but what is the reason for the pant-wetting on here about this bike? Does it do something special?

Yes, I'm wondering that too. It looks ok on the pics, but I'm just baffled by the euphoria surrounding something that most people haven't seen in the flesh, let alone been able to try.

I dont mean this as a dig - I'm as guilty as most people for new and shiny excitement, but I am baffled by the sheer amount of excitement about this.

I'm interested cos of it's simple, and a good deal. I haven't ridden one yet, but if there's enough support in the travel I'm sold.

What flavour of Monarch is it?

looks like 3.6kg which is just under 8lb. Scales are crap though. My 575 came up at 2.9kg which is just under 6.6lb.

What's that friggin music in the background? It sounds quite bad!! I feel like you should be playing some Slayer whilst filming this frame. Or on colour related theme, perhaps a bit of black metal?

It was Silverchair! I was wearing an Anthrax T-shirt while filming if that makes you feel any better!
All I need is my cassette and I'm ready. Photos this weekend of the bike in action.
