Can anyone point me to some basic info on how the cold effects performance.
I'm having a little bad patch at the moment, where I can't get any power out.
The only two things that have changed over the last two weeks are; I've not managed to do my other weekly rides, which is very rare and I've ripped my longs and I'm riding in summers shorts and knee warmers.
I can't imagine two weeks without the other training sessions are the cause, but I always keep my legs covered often up until June even when racing.

You may just have a bit of a virus or similar. Just nasty enough to take the edge off your performance? .. BTW covered till June! I wear the same shorts come rain shine hail or ice. ๐Ÿ˜‰

why are you worried about power this early in the season?
surely as an 'old git' you have a grasp of basic training principles?
or do you just jump on a bike whenevr you can and ride as fast as you can until you feel tired?

Not worried s such, just it's odd for the performance to just be turned off like that. And it's only three weeks to the first road race.

I did go out on my own today intent on a steady 100km, but even cut that short down to 50 miles.

I did keep looking down at my right foot, and I've just discovered my cleat is broken.
