Actually, they were better after a night in the fridge, scoffed in blustery weather on the hill. I empty the tub so I can fill the tub; I eat the berries to generate the calories that enable me to go out and collect more berries. Perpetual carb loading....
Big rosehip crop coming in.... I feel I should be doing something with this; tasty, but a faff to process in large quantities. Instead, I restricted myself to the obligatory daily tub of blackberries for the freezer, acquired early doors on this morning's pre-work ride. Handy things, frame bags.

My relationship with blackberries is a bit torn. The brambles are nasty but for a short time each year I actively seek them out for those yummy little juice bombs that they carry 😋
No bike involved, but a quick two tubs in the field margins above where I live. I don't get the sense anybody else is picking them, and some are already going over perhaps two or three weeks earlier than I'd expect. Autumn's coming...
We feasted on billberries and raspberries yesterday on the Sarn Helen section of Traws Eryri between CyB and Trawsfynydd. Today it was damsons and blackberries near Dolwyddelan. What delights might be waiting for us on the Carneddau and Conwy mountain tomorrow I wonder.

Handfuls of very sweet berries scoffed on today's ride, but it's feeling like we're in the end game before autumn hits.
Brambles in full swing here, blaeberries were early and now dwindling, lingon have been very good (loads of jars already). Some chanterelles and plenty of porcini/ceps to dry for storage. Will make plans to look for some hedgehogs (fungi, not mammals) after the upcoming rain too.
Field mushrooms a_go_go here in the Dales at the moment. As above, with some rain it could be epic. Rowans are going ballistic and the elders are on overdrive.
