Easyjet cancelled my flight to Pisa today so no riding the Strade Bianche for me this weekend 🙁
On the upside, it might be a more bianche race than usual so I'll watch it somewhere warm with some beers.

peters keen
not sure about the hair cut
Yeah either him or Stybar..
Should be a giggle watching it from the sofa.
go van go

what about michal ?

2007 wet Giro Stage 🙂

I think WvE will crack, not sure if he has that long distance endurance yet.. I suppose he did sandbag his way through the CX season so maybe his training now is taking him onto the road..
But nah.
Kwiato? Could be, he was out on the reccie yesterday.. but I think his season come later in the year.

looks a tad wet

the womens elite
we have a lead group with EBH 45s on a chase group with the K man with the peleton 5 mins back

looking like Van Der Breggen for the womens race
sky leading the cahse gap down to 1.20 75 km to go
Van Wout dishing out the pain !
Blimey 2 first timers on the front
En nu gaan jongen!
with no organization behind 50 second lead is serious!
Yes indeed, it's not looking impossible here!
chasing group(pair) looked laboured
Van Aert is a bit chubby (for a pro) isn't he? I guess CX doesn't reward losing all your bodyfat for the shorter races in the same way 1-3 weeks tours do
climbs well though 🙂
impressive effort to bridge that gap
then there were 3
Great riding from Benoot.
Not often you see Pro's grinding away like that. Thats how I ride every hill!
Can only assume I would have been walking some time back.
cracking race 🙂
think the favourites marked each other out of the race
so what world tour team is going sign up the lad ?
Lotto nl jumbo ? Would be a decent guess
impressive win
Awesome, hard riding Belgian .. my faves.
Amazing to think Van Aert has gone from one hour races to do so well in a four hour one.
Great race again. Strade Bianche might not be a Monument, but for me, it's the first of the Classics.

Yeah, impressive even given the terrain. TBH I'd have imagined van der Poel would've made the more likely roadie
WvA has been riding road for a few seasons, in local Belgian events only. It this year he’s touted to do more including PR and De Ronde.. it will be good to see how he takes PR on.
I too think the faves all rode themselves out of it, too much looking around at Sagan..
When's the next Spring Classic? I'm enjoying this stuff, feeling like I'm getting my 2 pounds worth of value from Eurosport too.
some quality gurning today 🙂

that was some effort

the next classic is Milan-San Remo on March 17th
Not sure if this'll work but shows how knackered WvA was, falling off on the final climb

Thanks! Looking forward to it. Good pictures too, cheers.
Watched that video, wow, he really did empty the tank today.

Presuming van deer Poel is still focused on his goal of the mountain bikes in the Olympics I 2020 and will be doing the xc World Cup again this year.
