Considering booking in for a day on the jumps and drops course, anybody attended this one? What sort of stuff did you do and how did you find it, im from a motocross background where i have no problems whatsoever with that sort of thing but i just cant seem to get it right on my mtb and now im just getting worse. I feel like i just need to start from scratch with some stuff.
Mr Jedi is an absolute wonder. Book it, you will not be disappointed
been to see him before and it was awesome. Sent lots of friends, they agree that it was awesome. Off to see him again in March with a couple of mates to do the specific jumps and drops course. We're expecting it to be awesome.
I went on a group jumps and drops session first off and found it useful enough to book a 2-1 with my brother. To say it transformed our riding doesn't do it justice. We've both ridden stuff that we saw as the sole preserve of freeride legends and are still progressing. Others will say similar things far more eloquently but basically yeah, get it booked ASAP.
I see lots of Gnarl X-ups and the like but what about translation to 29er XC Jeyness?
The missus is thinking of Valentines presents this year and I'm at a loss a Skills course is something I've been thinking of suggesting as quite useful.
Any 'XC Mincers' find it translated well to their riding?
Top bloke, I fall off at much greater speed now (and more importantly I know why as well)!
You will sail through the air with the greatest of ease. Top drawer coaching. Inspirational bloke. Do it.
I've got a 121 booked at the start of march, can't wait. Its been put back twice because I broke my leg. I just hope I don't get hurt again before I go.
Just had a 1-2-1 session last week, it was great. Couldn't recommend him highly enough.
I'm an XC mincer but Jedi got me into the air. Go for it!
Sounds like you will do well. If you have the nerve but lack a bit of skillz then it'll be good. I am a bit lacking in bravery so didn't get so much out of my session

Put me in a skate park with a bmx i'm fine getting my 'rad' 'gnarl' 'dude' on well less so now I'm 36 ๐
It's not so much about learning to get in the air, I find you can only put power through the pedals when they're on the ground after all, but did your local trail 'lap times' and stuff noticeably decrease because of the extra techniques you learned?
Just curious like.
I desperately want to do the jumps and drops course but only have an ASR5 now, what bikes did others take for that course?
Aren't you off skiing before then IAche? Carve with care!
C456, any bike will do

You'll learn loads about general cornering skills and pumping the trail for speed if you do the standard course, not sure about group jumps 'n drops as haven't done that. Definitely gives you the tools to go faster.

SB66 but it doesn't matter really, an ASR5 would be fine.
My most immediate improvement from seeing Jedi was cornering - better balanced and quicker, especially in more difficult conditions. I'm still working on it though. The jumping is taking more time, though probably more to a lack of bravery than anything - I'm fine with tabletops until they get big but anything other than tiny gaps are intimidating me out of the Jedi-context. I'm getting closer though, I just really hate crashing so take things in a very incremental manner.
Jedi does great work with XC riders as much as he does with future freeride legends. Yes - lap times tumble and you use much less energy getting the bike round the course.
Wilko that will be fine, it's the same technique and mindset regardless of the size of drop/jump
Nickjb I didn't feel like I made ridiculous amounts of progress in the session itself as im slow learner and cautious at times, but I was taught the basics really well and learned how to apply them elsewhere. It's the practice and repetition that follows until it becomes natural that brings the real progress. The course itself is just the beginning, setting you on the right path so to speak.
I've been on 2 courses he's the bollox
Chiefgrooveguru I was the other way round, weird eh? I think it's because I thought I knew how to corner so was just itching to get to the jumpy stuff. I learned the error of my ways further down the line and actually paid attention next time round!

This.
If you have to ask which bike to take and can't jump then you probably need instruction from a professional.
I rode a 29er with jones bars

Indeed I am only 2 weeks left! Off to the snowdome tonight for a bit of a warm up.
I have plenty of drugs that will help me through skiing and Jedi.
Right then im booking it asap.
I took my Whippet with Crest rims to the jumps and drops course and it was fine. I flew (eventually) ๐
The ASR5 feels really well balanced jumping, but I don't do big stuff, was just getting a feel for what others had used prior to turning up and being the only guy without a free-ride bike sort of thing! ๐
Sounds great, just got to raise the funds now...
I don't know why people bother try riding to be honest without being coached by him.
I think of my riding history as pre and post Jedi training. To put that into perspective I''ve had more fun on my bike in the last 18 months than I did in the previous 32 years.
Sorry but can anyone post his contact details or has he got a website?
I went to Jedi last year and it was not as revolutionary for me as it seems to have been for others. However I enjoyed it and I came away with a few useful tips and one that was worth the entrance fee alone and I think about and use every time I ride and so I don't regret going at all and may go back with a friend next year. Much more useful than buying some more tyres.
Changed my riding, now jumping things I'd have previously never looked at and my general control is massively improved. Top bloke and an incredible talent for instruction.

I'd ridden for 12 years before I went to see Jedi. He transformed my riding in many ways with in 3 hours. Hoping to go back for round 2 later this year.

You can't say that on here. The Jedettes will use their keyboard skillset and attack.
PMSL @jedettes, can we get a t-bird style jacket too?
