3 days in Wales and didnt get rained on. In fact it was lovely and sunny for 2 of the days!
UKGE Dyfi was cancelled, but we still had our accom booked so thought we'd go up anyway. What an excellent long weekend we had, featuring XC, DH + Enduro, now that surely is AM ๐
Friday afternoon was spent at Nant Yr Arian. Plan was to do Syfidrin trail with some other mates who were travelling up seperately, but they were late, so we rode Pendam trail and then Syfidrin, which was spot on and I'm going to call that our XC ride.

4000ft climbing and 29miles.
Beers in the eve, to prepare our bodies for the rocks of Antur Stiniog on Sat!
Bike now in DH mode. Dropouts changed to slack, and my cheaper wheels fitted ๐ (I didnt want to ding my brand spanking new LB rims!).
Antur was just a tad windy at the top. So much so, I got blown off one of the jumps lol! 15 uplifts were made, despite missing a number of lifts. Uplift is very efficient. Trails are very well made, but we did get a little bored of the same trails. We spent most of our time on Black Powder. Heres a vid:
38miles and errm nearly 10,000ft climbing ahem...
More beers in the eve and pizza, to prepare us for our guided tour of Dyfi forest on Sunday. Bike back into standard mode with my LB wheels back on.
There was more of us for Sunday morning and some had to go early, so we did a quick, short loop of ClimachX. This was followed by a mega ride in the Dyfi forest, taking in some fantastic descents. I'm fairly familiar with the forest having done 3 Howies events there, but some new steep, loose and technical trails. These were a grin fest! Loved them all! Some appearing onto Dyfi Enduro descents or pealing off them. We did however take in a hell of a lot of the Dyfi climbs too! In fact we rode pretty much the same length and ascent as the Howies enduro.
32 Miles and 6500ft climbing - on a 32lb Banshee Rune! Fortunately I wasnt wearing a FF lid - I'm dreading that in September....

One hell of a weekend, and some great company ๐
- I still wont be doing the Howies enduro on the Rune though lol!
looks ace that. ๐
You timed that well, certainly not nearly that nice here near Nant today!
But cloudy but dry since first thing in Llanrhystud, no bike today but 10k coast walk to pub ๐
Antur Stiniog looks brilliant!
Hope the weather can hold for this weekend, we're off up Snowdonia for some similar mtb action.
Looks like you had a cracker.
Good video - I'm not going until Oct, but I'm already excited watching that!
Antur is good fun, bike takes a beating though! A dh bike would be much more suitable. Bpw= trail bike. Antur=dh bike!
Only trail I wasn't so keen on riding was The Black. I rode it in the morning, but slippy off camber slate in places and tight gullies got me worried about damage to me and more importantly, the bike!
Looks like a good weekend, must give Stiniog a go next time I'm round that way!
Looks like an epic few days away. I wonder what all the white sticks were at stiniog? They weren't there a few weeks back when I was there.
