The Bike Chain in Edinburgh has an 18" Pugsley demonstrator.

I too thought it would make for a rental opportunity. I'd love to have a go somewhere like Northumbria coast or Cornwall. Looked like fun but wouldn't buy one. Unless I lived on the coast.

Just use your normal bike

you just sink. I grew up on the Isle of Wight, and I've tried (and on a motorbike too, with equally little success).

Go to Fano in Denmark. Miles and miles of hard packed sand, flying along at mental speeds with the wind behind you racing the kite boarders and buggies.

I've rode many a time along the 3 miles of woolacombe beach. No problem

I too have done a coast ride on my normal mtb, in the Southampton area with a mate who sadly passed away last year. A great days riding apart from the stretches of sandy and pebble beach. Ended up pushing on both.c

Houns, mebbie I weighs a bit more than you. I sinks.

I wonder if the Bike Chain would let me have it for a weekend, especially as I have no intention of buying one...

flap jack if your up this way (East Lothian - S.E Scotland) theres a spare pugsley you can ride here with the posse who are more than happy to show you some of the coastline ๐Ÿ™‚

Also there is Law Cycles at North Berwick here on the coast that has a pugsley for daily rental, with more arriving soon.
