The Brompton hire thing is great if you want to try one. I had three days at a conference in Bristol a while back and I hired one out for the whole time to get between my accommodation and the venue and the station. Great little things (got a random QOM going down a road descent which did make me smile). However, they’re heavy.

The guy that invited me to speak at the conference decided to be chivalrous and offer to carry my things to the auditorium. After lugging it round the venue, I was happy to hand him the Brompton. He emitted a sharp exhalation of breath and stopped speaking for a bit.

I’ve used one of the Dahon’s too. Even heavier! It really needs a little trolley to get it around.

Anyone had long term experience of the BYB P8?

I’m in the market for a foldie and the options are either BYB P8, BTwin Folding Seconds or a second hand Brompton….the first two will have better gear range as it’s a little undulating to the nearest Train station.
