What have the camping facilities been like in previous years or is staying in a 'proper' campsite a better option?

Its a mart site first off, so think grass field and portaloos.

There are no showering facilities at 10UTB, they will sell you a solar shower.

It would be bit of a pain travelling from the campsite to the event, but its up to you what you want out of it.

Aye, pretty basic. Campsite was quite squishy last year (lots of moss, tons of midges), but bearable. We stayed 2 nights, but it's only £3/night. 10 mins down the road to the start, so it's a bit far to base yourself at the tents. We left a car at the car park to use instead.

Also, we did have a solar shower, but there's nowhere to hang it up!

There shouldn't be midges this year. Too early in the season for them, particularly after the cold winter.

Not the careful use of "shouldn't be" there though!

The Glen Nevis caravan and campsite is a quick 6-7mins drive down the road at Fort William.

Excellent site which is where we'll be at with the caravan.

rode the 'signposted' course yesterday - not very inspiring, hope they add in more of the witches trails. seems more sterilised than I remember it from 3 or 4 yrs ago.. -(

The signposted route is really pretty dull. It does have some really nice riding on it though. I, er, mouthed off a bit about that on Bikeradar and upset No Fuss a bit, apparently the route on the day won't be the same (though one thing he mentioned was that they don't use Nessie on the day, which seems a shame) Think it's a bit of a cheek for nevis range to advertise it as a red route but that's not No Fuss's fault.

The sign posted route is the original 10 route - he changes it quite wildly each year. Dont worry it will be good

Is the route way-marked just now? If so, then a might take a run up on Thursday and up to Laggan to make a day of it.

Red grading is Forestry Commission Scotland's.

Gazza go on just enter it is a good event to enter and i don`t really like racing! If those pesky midges stay away it is good, but as trail rat says they are out already i am a bit of a magnet for them though

Nice comfy bed, hot shower, warm food, can't beat it and no bloody midges eating you, looks like the ABC has gone soft..
