That has pain written all over it!
As long as he doesn't touch the front brake, he'll be fine.
Or the back brake.
Or steer.
Or move.
ice spike tyres?
that is going to seriously hurt!
Might be OK if he's spiked tyres, if he hasn't I'd suggest he not have much up top to damage.

He's not even looking where he's going.
fortune favors the bold. so i say it will end well
Keep it rolling, he might just bounce off the sides and keep it rubber side down. Always hang in there till your elbows hit the ground I reckon!
Tell me this is one of a series of pics?
i reckon he cleaned it.
He's not even looking where he's going.
he's looking at the ground.... which is exactly where he's going!
as long as the the camera is turned back to the horizontal before he rides down it, it should be ok.
Fake. Never seen a wheel sink into solid rock before.
If he's got enough speed he'll be able to clear the ice, pull a one-handed-devil-gnar-hand-gesture and land perfectly in the soft snow beyond... go big man!
it will end with sexy contact time..
There were big stretches of clear ice like that on my commute on Monday, horrible. I managed the uphill section getting off several times to negotiate the worst bits but once I reached the highest point I gave up and walked off the downs to the road. There was no way I was going to try and ride even the gentlest downward slope on it. I was having enough trouble just standing up.
1. The rider is going so fast they huck off it in a straight line clearing all the ice and rock and landing in the snow?
2.They go down like a bag of hammers
Someone should have gritted that
Need more information. Is he approaching
a) Just ice
b) an ice conveyor
?
If it's a) then he'll take off. If it's b) the ice conveyor will cancel out the thrust & he won't take off.
badly?
I sincerely hope there is a results picture.
If it's a 29er it'll "just roll over it" right ??
it will end with sexy contact time..
i wish i had said that

ice tyres maybe get down ok if kept completely straight no movement at all....
other than that the photoshop job above is the answer ๐
I hope there is a follow up series as well! The website where the original picture is located is here.
No follow up as yet....
I claim he drops it without coming off on the ice, then goes OTB in soft snow at the bottom just when he thinks he's safe!
