I have used superstars but found I had to do them up very tight to seal, switched to DT Swiss valves and they were perfect straight away.

Don't over tighten them 🙂 hand tight is enough, sealant does the rest. I think the SS ones, with the conical bung, are preferable to ones with a block shaped bung. The unthreaded section at the end also works better with the track pump I have.

That said, I guess hand tight varies from person to person.

I find superstar ones fine, have a few on different bikes.

You only need to close the valve until it stops moving, not crank it down tight.

I'm quite embarrassed now in saying that I chopped some valves from a pair of old inertubes & gorilla taped over them.

Think my bike(when not set up ghetto style) is running valves cut from a tesco or scwalbe inner tube. The GF is using SuperStar valves in hers

Using Superstar on Stans Arch EX rims and no problems here, they're as tight as I can do them.

Pushed them hard down with my thumb whilst tightening lock ring.

Decathlon sell some Hutchison branded tubeless valves which work fine and are around £8.50 a pair

I'll tell you about tubeless valves...

They are the reason we are all lumped with presta, even though schraeder makes even more sense tubeless!
