Okay,
I have an opportunity to change my current rp23 to a kashima for a good price and was wondering what all the settings mean.
On the shock it says the following:
Rebound Tune - Medium
Velocity Tune - Medium
Boost Valve Tune - 175
Also is now says 0 1 2 on the blue dial rather than 1 2 3
What does all this mean?
cheers

p.s. this is for my Nicolai Helius AC
I believe it's just a way for people to identify it's a 2012 adaptive logic shock rather than a 2011 shock.
The settings almost certainly do different things, but are still meant to give you 3 pro pedal settings.
What does the 175 mean in relation to the Boost Valve Tune?
Thanks Conan.

The Boost Valve creates a position-sensitive damping scheme that allows for a seamless transition from efficient ProPedal to square-edge bump absorption to a bottomless end-of-stroke feel. The Boost Valve also decouples the ProPedal and bottom-out adjustments, enabling ProPedal platform adjustments to be made without affecting the changes made to the bottom-out adjustment.
The Boost Valve is not adjusted directly. Instead, its behavior and performance characteristics are influenced by the air pressure setting in the reservoir and by adjusting the ProPedal knob.

If you understand that lot completely, you're a better man than me. I'm told the suggestion is not to run a shock with a different boost valve setting than was intended for your frame.
Mine is a new rp23/kashima and it's set at 225 boost valve. I'm about 11half stone of which mojo asked my weight and it's bloody brilliant. Id say if you weight more then 175 is too soft. .... But I'm using common sense, I'm prolly wrong
does anyone know where I can find out the boost valve numbers in relation to these shocks - cannot find anything on the fox site...
thanks

Boost valve is so important that PUSH tuning supposedly removes it!
Only bet is to google the hell out of it, but everyones asking that question from what I can see.
too true, that is all my googling seems to have turned up...will keep looking..
cheers

It should be written on the actual shock itself
on the shock it just says - boost tune 175 - what i wany to know is what does the 175 mean and is there a different value for each bike/each shock/each rider etc.
i have seen some info about that being 175psi of nitrogen but still have no idea WTF that means...
AARRGGHH!
The BV, much like the compression & rebound tune, relates to the type of bike/linkage/leverage ratio/suspension curve the shock is going on to.
In the case of the 175 - it relates to the PSI in the chamber & is non user adjustable on the RP shocks.
You should speak with Nicolai, and ask them what tune of shock they recommend for the frame for an RP23.
